Safe Parking Program

A partnership program for businesses that choose to offer a clearly designated parking area where people living in vehicles can rest without fear of being towed.

Why Safe Parking is Critical

Many neighbors experiencing homelessness live in their vehicles, including people who work during the day and simply need a safe place to sleep at night. Safe Parking is designed to reduce risk and instability by providing a calm, designated place to rest without being told to move along, cited, or towed. Our goal is simple: safety, dignity, and clear expectations. Safe Parking locations are not campsites. They are quiet, short-term rest locations with strict rules that protect the business, the community, and the people who park there.

Safe Parking Guidelines

These guidelines help keep Safe Parking locations clean, quiet, and comfortable for everyone.

No trash

Please take all trash with you and leave the space cleaner than you found it.

Please use restrooms

Use public restrooms when available. Please do not use the property as a restroom.

No illegal activity

This must remain a safe space. Any illegal activity ends Safe Parking privileges.

Keep it quiet

No gatherings, loud music, or lingering outside the vehicle.

Park in the designated area

Please park only in the designated spots, farthest from business entrances.

Rest and move along respectfully

This is a place to rest and reset. Please depart on time and keep the area calm.

Important: If these guidelines are not followed, the business may ask you to leave and Safe Parking access may be removed at that location.

Vehicles Allowed

Not allowed: RVs, campers, trailers, or outdoor sleeping setups.
