Recent Hope Delivered ~ May-June 2026
May and June Impact
Through our online request system, donors helped fund urgent, specific needs for local neighbors throughout May and June.
Direct-request totals include only money recorded through fulfilled online requests. They do not include donated goods, five window air-conditioning units, volunteer deliveries, resource coordination, résumé and application assistance, or the many hours of personal support provided behind the scenes. Only $10.70 was donated toward operations during this period. Additional operating support is urgently needed to help cover coordinator time, website costs, outreach, transportation, and the behind-the-scenes work required to keep these services available.
Every photo below represents a real local need that was met through community support. Some requests were funded through small donations, while others were fulfilled through donated goods, volunteer deliveries, or direct assistance.

Website visitors help by connecting them to local resources ~ May/June
Since launching in April 2026, Red Bird’s website has seen remarkable early growth. In the last month alone, traffic increased to 1,241 visitors, up 125%, with 3,263 pageviews, up 132% over the previous period. This rapid increase shows that more people are discovering local needs, engaging with our mission, and connecting with opportunities to help neighbors in the community.
May and June 2026: Small Gifts, Direct Help, and Continued Hope
However, the requests visible on our website tell only part of the story.
During May and June, The Red Bird Foundation’s online request system connected local donors with neighbors facing urgent needs. Through those posted requests alone, our community helped provide medications, food, transportation, work supplies, beds, medical necessities, cooling assistance, emergency shelter items, and other practical support.
Much of Red Bird’s work happens quietly, through phone calls, messages, resource coordination, and donated items that are never entered into the online system.
During these two months, we helped move many additional donations directly between community members and families in need. Because those goods were given and delivered outside the request system, we are not assigning them a dollar value or including them in our recorded fundraising totals.
One of the most urgent needs during this period was protection from the dangerous summer heat. Red Bird helped secure five window air-conditioning units for local families and elderly couples.
Some were purchased through community support and shipped to the recipients the same day. Others were donated and delivered directly by generous community members. For a family with young children, a disabled neighbor, or an elderly couple struggling with serious health conditions, a working air conditioner is more than a household convenience. It can be essential to their health and safety.
