STRONGER TOGETHER
Community Partners
Red Bird works alongside local agencies and organizations to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness connect with resources, services, safety, and support. Each partner plays a different role, but together we create a stronger and more coordinated community response. We are very thankful for our partners.

One80 Place
Works with us through coordinated intake to help connect people experiencing homelessness with housing and supportive services. Many homeless individuals have difficulty traveling to offices in other cities, especially the disabled and seniors, and especially during cold and hot weather. RedBird and One80 Place attempt to coordinate efforts to reach those who cannot reach out.

Summerville Police Department
Refers individuals and families to RedBird when officers encounter people experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing housing. We also work with local police to solve community issues that help make cities more accommodating to the unhoused while we find them a place to be. Working with local law enforcement helps prevent wasted tax dollars on incarceration and judicial expenses.

Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office
Works with Red Bird to help problem-solve complex situations involving those living on the street. We step in when we are needed to better assist those who have nowhere to go. And to find real solutions toward keeping them and others safe while they wait for housing.

Dorchester County EMS
Coordinates with Red Bird for homeless outreach. Some homeless are recovering from surgery or acute traumas, or dehydration. They may lack mobility devices or other medical devices that we attempt to fund or acquire through donations. Many homeless individuals do not have insurance to see doctors or the money to purchase items like bandages or ointments, and this prevents costly ER visits.

George H. Seago, Jr. Library
Provides a welcoming location where Red Bird and ONE80 Place conduct in-person intake, resource guidance, and follow-up appointments for the unhoused. RedBird meets every Wednesday in the South Carolina Room at 12 pm. We also distribute essential items and fill their Blessing Box. View Flyer for more information.
