Lisa and her son are fleeing a domestic violence situation and they're currently living in their small car. Lisa is a mother, age 45, and her son Noah is 16. Due to sleeping in a reclined position, her ankles are swelling. Lisa is disabled and receiving Social Security Disability benefits. She has a neck, back, and heart condition. They are in desperate need of a tent so she can lie flat and allow her ankles to no longer swell. She is currently taking diuretics to help with the swelling and it is flushing out too many electrolytes and iron leaving her anemic and very weak and exhausted, she can barely keep her head up. We already have a double sleeping bag that's rated for cold weather for them, but they also need a car electric heater that can heat food so they no longer have to rely on fast food to have a warm meal, so she can save money and start building a future for her and her son. She does not qualify for DV housing because the violence was perpetrated by cousin they were living with not a partner.
